Lisa McKenzie, CMCA, AMS, PCAM
President/CEO
Lisa McKenzie is the president and chief executive officer for Desert Living, Inc., a homeowner association management company that she founded in 2002. She has a combined total of over twenty years of residential real estate sales and marketing experience along with community association management in the Las Vegas and Henderson communities. Ms. McKenzie is currently managing a portfolio of nine homeowner associations with over $1 million worth of assets.
Lisa and her family have been living in the Las Vegas Valley since 1984 after relocating from Michigan. She and her husband David have raised their two children here and actively participated in Little League, PTA, and currently belong to American Legion Post 40 in Henderson.
Beginning in 2004, Ms. McKenzie began a course of studies that allowed her to obtain the association management designations of CMCA (Certified Manager of Community Associations) and AMS (Association Management Specialist).
In 2010, Ms. McKenzie was awarded the prestigious PCAM® designation from the Community Association Institute, a national organization headquartered in Falls Church, Virginia. The PCAM® designation is the highest professional recognition available nationwide to managers who specialize in community association management. Worldwide, less than 2,000 professional managers currently hold the PCAM® designation.
Ms. McKenzie is a member of the Henderson Chamber of Commerce and was recently honored to be offered a position on the Board of Directors for the Chamber. She is a recent graduate of the Chamber’s distinguished Leadership Henderson Program and belongs to the Water Street District Business Association. Lisa is also a member of the Community Association Institute and the National Board of Certification for Community Association Managers.
Lisa and her husband David currently reside in Henderson with their rescued Norfolk Terrier, Frankie.

Margaret McKenzie, Community Manager
Margaret is Lisa’s daughter and joined the company in 2010 to enhance the customer service values and principles of the business. Her professional background includes management positions with several prestigious hotels, including The Bellagio, The Palms and most recently The Wynn Las Vegas, where her expertise was in providing exceptional customer service.
Margaret has recently obtained her community manager license and is now actively managing a portfolio of six communities throughout the Vegas Valley.
Margaret lives in Henderson with her beloved Yorkipoo, Toby, and enjoys acting as a foster parent for hard-to-place dogs in conjunction with the Nevada SPCA. She has been instrumental in finding “furever” homes for numerous dogs with emotional and physical disabilities.

Linda Gallop, Community Manager/Bookkeeper
Linda is originally from Michigan, but has travelled extensively and lived all over the country.
Linda has been with Desert Living for over six years is extremely proficient in Quickbooks and Village Management Software. Her expertise in the accounting field is invaluable in assisting homeowners with their accounts and board members with their financial reports.
In addition, Linda has recently obtained her community manager license and is now managing three communities along with doing the bookkeeping for all the associations.
Linda and her family make their home in southwest Las Vegas, where her husband, Don, is a pastor.

Kathy Cass, Administrative Assistant
Kathy and her husband moved to Nevada in 2002 when he accepted a transfer from their home state of Illinois. For several years prior to the move, Kathy was the treasurer of their town home association in the Chicago suburbs and was just elected to the Board of Directors of her current homeowners association.
Kathy has worked in the professional services industry, specifically for CPA firms, most of her career. Most recently she headed the Human Resources department of a marketing company and became involved with a company providing residential Energy Star certification. Her management background and experience with the public give her the skills to handle the variety of tasks we ask of her each day.
Kathy and her husband live in Henderson and have two married children and two young granddaughters who live in Illinois. |
